Genesis Microchip Joins EPA Climate Leaders Program
On June 20, 2007, Genesis Microchip announced its pledge to voluntarily reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by participating in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) Climate Leaders program, an industry-government partnership to address global climate change issues. "At Genesis we believe ‘Energy Saved is Energy Created'. Global climate change is a serious issue which we need to address as a global team," said Paul Massie, senior director of IT and facilities. "Genesis is proud to join with other industry leaders in doing our part to control global warming by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Our collaboration with the EPA is an important step in our long-term commitment to solving this problem and demonstrates our concerns regarding the environment."

About EPA’s Climate Leaders
Launched in February 2002, EPA’s Climate Leaders is an industry-government partnership that works to develop long-term comprehensive corporate climate change strategies. Climate Leaders Partners set a corporate-wide greenhouse gas reduction goal and inventory their emissions to measure progress. By reporting inventory data to EPA, Partners create a lasting record of their accomplishments. Partners also identify themselves as corporate environmental leaders and strategically position themselves as climate change policy continues to unfold. Climate Leaders Partners represent a variety of sectors, from heavy manufacturing to banking and retail. These companies all strive to set the standard for greenhouse gas management in their sectors, and more broadly in the U.S. economy.
